Sharon Tisher’s Climate Change Talk January 2014

On January 31st Sharon Tisher gave a presentation and led a discussion on Climate Change after a well-attended potluck supper. A UMaine professor, Sharon was trained by the “Climate Reality Project,” a group formed in part by Al Gore.  Sharon’s PowerPoint slideshow illustrates the changes that will occur to our planet if we don’t reduce our current production and consumption of carbon-based energy worldwide.  We plan to have Sharon back for a follow-up presentation that concentrates on alternative energy and other ways we can meet our energy needs more sustainably.  Stay tuned.

Statement on Postcards:

As a person of faith, I believe we have a moral obligation to future generations to leave them a planet that is not polluted or damaged by climate change.  We all need to do our part as stewards of Creation.  Please do your part by supporting the EPS’s Carbon Pollution Standards for new and existing power plants.
