Cumberland Community Garden – September 2011

The Cumberland Community Garden – located by the far back trails on the Tuttle Rd side of Twin Brook – is planting/harvesting vegetables this year which will be entirely donated to local area food pantries.  We are looking for volunteers to help with the harvesting of the crops this fall and we will have members available to direct volunteers on Tuesday and Saturday mornings.  We are currently harvesting tomatoes and squash, which are located at the front part of the garden.

This is an experimental 1st year for the garden to determine the viability of this project, the quality of the soil etc… Next year we hope to offer plots for residents to lease so all can enjoy the fruits of their labor!  Find out more at http://www.cumberlandcommunitygarden.blogspot.com/
